Install the agent

Download the WorkMonitor agent for your computer, sign in, and grant the permissions it needs so your work starts being tracked.

Who this is for

Anyone getting a machine tracking for the first time. The download screen itself has no permission gate. Any signed-in member can reach it and enroll their own device.

Before you start

You'll need to already be signed in to WorkMonitor. The download screen lives inside your dashboard. Right now a signed installer is only published for macOS (Private beta); Windows and Linux are still In development, so those builds are built from source rather than downloaded and opened.

Steps

1. Open Settings, then select Get the agent under Monitoring.
2. WorkMonitor detects your machine and shows a Detected badge next to it. If it's wrong, or you want a different build, select a chip under Install on another OS: macOS · Apple silicon, macOS · Intel, Windows, or Linux.
3. Select Download for your OS (for example, Download for macOS · Apple silicon). The version, file format, size, and whether the build is Code-signed & notarized show underneath the button.
4. Open the downloaded installer and sign in with your work email. That's the whole setup. It registers this machine to you automatically.
5. Under Grant permissions, follow the guide for your OS. On macOS, enable Screen Recording and Accessibility for WorkMonitor in System Settings → Privacy & Security, then quit and relaunch the agent.
6. Optionally, under Browser extension, select Download for your browser to add the extension too. It reports the active site (bare domain only) that the desktop agent can't see, and enrolls as its own device under your account.
7. Scroll to Your devices and confirm your machine shows Connected.

What happens next

Your device appears in Your devices as soon as you generate an install token, showing Awaiting install, and flips to Connected the moment the agent or extension enrolls and phones home. Despite its heading, Your devices isn't limited to your own machines. It shows every device enrolled anywhere in your workspace, so you'll see your teammates' devices there too.

The page can't read your machine's OS permission state directly. It only shows whether a build has connected, not whether Screen Recording or Accessibility are actually granted. Use the permission guides on the page as the source of truth for what to check.

If it doesn't work

• If the signed installer for your OS isn't published to this workspace yet, the download button is replaced by a note explaining that and pointing you to the Advanced: scripted / IT-managed install (build from source) section further down the same screen.
• If Your devices won't load, you'll see "Couldn't load your devices right now."
• Before anything is installed, Your devices reads "No devices yet. Generate a token above and run the agent. It appears here the moment it connects."
• On Windows, expect a SmartScreen warning on first launch since the beta build isn't code-signed yet. Choose More info → Run anyway.
