Employee management (HRIS)
Connect an HR system or identity directory to keep your roster, org chart, and roles in sync without creating extra members or billed seats.
Who this is for
Viewing this screen needs the permission that reads the team roster, which managers and owners hold by default; without it you'll see "Employee-management integrations are available to managers and owners." instead. Connecting a new source, running a sync, or disconnecting one all need the stronger permission that manages members, which only an owner holds by default. A manager can look, but can't change anything here.
What you'll see
The header reads Employee management (HRIS), with a breadcrumb back to Integrations.
An editorial line states the rule that governs every sync: "Keep your roster, org chart, roles, and employment status in sync from your HR system of record. A sync matches people to existing members by email and updates them. It never creates a member or a billed seat. Unmatched people are surfaced for you to invite."
Connected sources lists every HR system or directory already linked. Each card shows its name, either Last synced [time] or Never synced, a status, and Sync now and Disconnect buttons; a connection with a problem shows its own error message on the card instead of a sync time.
Add a source lists everything you can connect, grouped under Native connectors, Unified aggregator, or Identity directory, each with a Connect button. Selecting Connect opens a dialog titled Connect [provider] with that provider's own configuration and credential fields, plus a toggle: "Deactivate members when terminated. When on, a member marked terminated in [provider] is set inactive here, which revokes their login and frees their seat. Off by default." The dialog's Connect & sync button saves the connection and runs an initial sync in one step.
Synced people lists everyone the connected sources have brought in, with columns for Name, Email, Title, Department, Status, and Link (Linked or To invite), and a filter for All, Suggested, or Linked.
What happens next
A successful sync reports how many people it saw, matched, and suggested inviting, and the Synced people table below refreshes right away. Disconnecting a source stops it from syncing going forward, but doesn't remove the people it already brought into the roster.
If it doesn't work
- If you can't view this screen at all, you'll see "Employee-management integrations are available to managers and owners."
- A connected source with a sync problem shows its own error message on its card.
- If connecting a new source succeeds but the first sync fails, you'll see "Connected, but the first sync failed: [error]."
- This screen shows only a Last synced timestamp per connected source. It doesn't show a history of past sync runs.
- If nobody has synced in yet, Synced people reads "No people here yet. Connect a source and run a sync to populate the roster."
