White-label & Embeds

Put your own brand on the public certificate verifier and badge, serve them from your own domain, and mint ready-to-paste embeddable widgets.

Who this is for

Branding and custom domains both need the permission that manages the organization, which only an owner holds by default; anyone else sees "Only an organization owner can change white-label branding." or "Only an organization owner can manage custom domains." instead. Embed studio needs a separate permission that manages certificates, which is also owner-only by default.

What you'll see

The header reads White-label & Embeds, with the context line "Your brand on the public verifier, badges, own domain, and embeddable widgets," and jump links to Branding, Custom domains, and Embed studio.

Branding: a Logo URL field and an Accent color picker with its own hex field, plus a live preview of the public verified-hours badge using your values. Clearing a field falls back to WorkMonitor's default. Save branding applies your logo and color to the public certificate verifier and the embeddable badge; Reset discards unsaved edits.

Custom domains: a Hostname field and Add domain button, then a list of every domain you've added. Each shows a status: pending ("DNS control not yet proven. Publish the TXT record below, then Verify."), verified ("DNS control proven. Our team provisions TLS + routing before it goes live (active)."), or active ("Live: TLS + routing are provisioned and this host serves your brand."). It also lists the TXT and CNAME records to publish at your DNS provider, and Verify (or Re-check once verified) plus Remove.

Embed studio: pick a Widget (Verified-hours badge, Certificate badge, Timeline, or Approver page), pick the resource it shows (a member and period, a certificate, or a timesheet ID), then select Mint embed token. The result is a ready-to-paste <iframe> snippet and a live preview rendered from that token. Before you mint anything, this panel reads "Nothing minted yet. Configure a widget on the left and mint a token to get the iframe snippet and a live preview."

What happens next

Selecting Save branding themes the public verifier and badge immediately and shows "Branding saved. Your public verifier and badge now use these." Adding a domain shows its DNS records right away; Verify re-checks them, and once DNS control is proven, WorkMonitor's own team still provisions TLS and routing before the domain goes live as active. A minted embed token is short-lived (about 15 minutes), so the snippet from Embed studio is meant for a one-off or a demo; a page that needs the widget to keep working re-mints its own token instead of reusing this one.

If it doesn't work

  • If you don't hold the permission to change branding, you'll see "Only an organization owner can change white-label branding. Ask an owner, or sign in as one." For custom domains, it's "Only an organization owner can manage custom domains. Ask an owner, or sign in as one."
  • If you try to mint an embed without the certificates permission, you'll see "You need permission to mint embeds."
  • If a domain's TXT record hasn't propagated yet, Verify reports "Not verified yet", and the domain stays pending.
  • If branding or domains fail to load for another reason, you'll see the server's own message with a Retry option.
